Traumatismele dintilor la copii, precum si infectiile dento-parodontale se considera urgente in terapia pedodontica. Traumatismele dintilor temporari apar de la varsta de 1,5 ani pana la 5 ani si sunt cauzate, in majoritatea situatiilor, de activitatile sociale ale copiilor: jocurile de la gradinita, din parcurile de copii, cazaturile cu bicicleta, etc. Dupa o trauma de acest gen, parintele trebuie sa contacteze medicul dentist pentru a merge la o consultatie de specialitate. Medicul dentist va pune diagnosticul in functie de anamneza, examinarea clinica si paraclinica.
Ce complicatii pot aparea?
- Necroza pulpara – unde tratamentul de canal este obligatoriu pentru pastrarea dintelui pe arcada
- Anchiloza dintelui – dintele se fixeaza in alveola si ingreuneaza sau chiar stopeaza aparitia dintelui permanent pe arcada -> necesitatea unei radiografii unidentare
- Afectarea germenului permanent – mai ales in intruzii sau luxatii totale poate fi afectat germenul dintelui permanent.
